Farmer

City Of Homestead issued the following announcement on Feb 03.

After a brief one-year hiatus the Homestead Eco Fair is back and better than ever with a new location and a twist! The Homestead Eco Fair will not only teach attendees about the environment but will also include a Farmer’s Market with locally grown produce. The FREE celebration will take place on Saturday, February 19th, 2022 from 12pm to 4pm at the Homestead City Hall Plaza located at 100 NE Civic Court, Homestead, FL 33030 on the Washington Avenue side. Parking for the event is available at City Hall and throughout Downtown Homestead.

Adults and kids alike will not only learn about the environment but will also enjoy many amenities like local vendors offering scrumptious food and assorted items, like orchids, for sale. The Farmer’s Market will include fresh and locally grown produce from the Redland community for attendees to devour.  Get ready to dance the afternoon away to the tunes of DJ Juventud and marvel at Ballet Folklorico of Miami who will be presenting a special performance. For those interested, there will also be free COVID-19 vaccinations from 11am-7pm.

Visitors of the Fair can board the Homestead National Parks Trolley, which provides a free Ranger-guided tour and free admission to Biscayne and Everglades National Parks every weekend through April 3rd, 2022.  The trolley departs from the City Hall Plaza at 12:15pm, 2:11pm and 3:03pm and will take riders to Everglades and Biscayne National Parks to explore and enjoy nature.

The Homestead Eco Fair, organized by Homestead Main Street, is a chance for residents and visitors to connect with nature and celebrate Homestead’s leadership in environmental stewardship.
