Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, along with Rep. Chip Roy and 16 House Republican colleagues, are demanding Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas release a report on the total number of illegal aliens currently residing in the United States. In a statement, the members wrote, “The American people deserve an exact accounting number of illegal aliens residing in the country, especially if the federal government’s policies have caused that number to surge since the previous estimate.”

The letter, signed by a group of House Republicans, highlighted concerns about the Southwest border crisis and the release of at least 4.7 million illegal aliens into the interior under the Biden Administration’s policies. The lawmakers emphasized the need for an immediate update to the report using the most recent data available.

Co-signers of the letter include Representatives Mary Miller, Bob Good, Nicole Malliotakis, Rich McCormick, Nancy Mace, Keith Self, Randy Weber, Anthony D’Esposito, Ralph Norman, Dusty Johnson, Glenn Grothman, Ben Cline, Brian Babin, Aaron Bean, Morgan Luttrell, and Michael Cloud.

The call for transparency and updated information on the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. comes amidst ongoing debates and concerns surrounding immigration policies and border security. The full text of the letter can be viewed on the official House Republican website.
