City Of Eustis, Florida issued the following announcement on Aug. 25.
While a local resident was gardening at the Cardinal Comminity Garden last month, she noticed a juvenile RedTail Hawk who was injured. She took it to the Raptor Education & Rehabilitation (Avian Reconditioning Center) in Apopka. From there they fixed the broken wing.
While this female hawk was healing, she bonded with another juvenile RedTail Hawk male that was taken in from Ocoee, who also had a broken wing. Since they bonded, they were allowed to be released together back into the wild here in Eustis.
The kids from the Eustis Parks & Recreation after school program had a chance to learn more about these amazing creatures and see an up close encounter.
