Florida Congressman Daniel Webster has voted in favor of H. Con. Res. 14, a budget resolution that sets financial targets and directs congressional committees to draft legislation aimed at reducing wasteful spending, strengthening the economy, and restoring fiscal responsibility. The resolution is aligned with advancing President Trump's agenda.
"This budget resolution is a first, critical step toward implementing President Trump’s full agenda, and delivering on the promises made to the American people," stated Rep. Webster. He emphasized that the resolution would facilitate reforms ensuring wise expenditure of taxpayer dollars while enhancing border security.
H. Con. Res. 14 does not specify cuts or funding for any programs but establishes spending guidelines for fiscal years 2025 through 2034. It aims to reduce the U.S. deficit by nearly $1.5 trillion over ten years.
Congressional Committees are tasked with developing legislation focused on job creation, economic revitalization, and energy development as part of prioritizing spending within their jurisdictions.
Webster expressed his commitment to maintaining key programs without increasing the deficit: "By rejecting the Washington presumption that nothing can be cut from the budget in order to fund priorities without increasing the deficit, I am confident we can develop a budget that protects key programs and veteran benefits." He reiterated his dedication to working with Congress and President Trump to deliver results for Americans relying on Social Security and Medicare.
