Today, Congressman Daniel Webster from Clermont has been appointed as the chair of the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation for the 119th Congress. This announcement was made by House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves.
Chairman Graves expressed confidence in the leadership team for the new Congress, stating, “Our subcommittee chairs for the 119th Congress have a strong track record of proven leadership, experience, and demonstrated legislative expertise.” He highlighted that five out of six subcommittee chairs are returning members who significantly contributed to the committee's achievements over the past two years. Graves added, “All six of our chairmen will play critical roles in our committee’s agenda as we work to ensure a stronger, safer, and more efficient transportation and infrastructure network for our country.”
Congressman Webster expressed gratitude for his appointment: “I thank Chairman Graves for the opportunity to once again serve as Chairman of the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation subcommittee.” He emphasized the importance of the Coast Guard and maritime industries to national success and security.
