The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 28, known as the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025. This legislation was co-introduced by Congressman Daniel Webster. The bill mandates that any school receiving federal funding must adhere to Title IX regulations and prohibits biological males from participating in sports programs or activities specifically designated for women or girls.

Congressman Webster expressed his support for the bill, stating, "Allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports is patently wrong and jeopardizes women’s safety and fairness in competition." He added that with this legislation, "House Republicans are taking decisive action to protect the accomplishments and opportunities that women and girls have worked so hard to achieve."
