Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, voted today to pass H.Res. 1371, condemning the Biden Administration and its Border Czar, Kamala Harris, for what he describes as a failure to secure the United States’ border.

“Despite the media’s attempted cover-up, it’s a fact that President Biden tasked Vice President Harris with addressing the illegal immigration crisis at our southern border,” said Rep. Webster. “It’s also a fact that the Biden Administration and its Border Czar Kamala Harris objectively failed to address the immigration crisis and secure our border. Instead, they took over 60 executive actions that undermined our border security and have made every town a border town. The American people have had enough, and it’s time that we return to the border policies of the Trump Administration and secure our nation’s border.”

Webster cited several statistics regarding what he termed as "the Biden-Harris Border Crisis":

- Since President Biden and Vice President Harris took office, there have been over 9.9 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide.

- Roughly 2 million known ‘gotaways’ have evaded U.S. Border Patrol.

- Since VP Harris was named “Border Czar”, monthly encounters surpassed the highest recorded month under the Trump Administration.

- Under the Biden-Harris Administration, over 350 individuals on the terrorist watchlist have attempted to cross the Southwest border.

- In FY24, a record 31,077 Communist Chinese nationals were encountered at the Southwest border.
