Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, voted today to pass H.R. 8580, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for 2025. The legislation aims to bolster national security and fully fund veterans' benefits and programs.

“Today, I voted to pass legislation that honors our nation’s veterans and delivers on my commitment to keeping our nation safe,” said Rep. Webster. “We owe our veterans a debt we can never repay, but this legislation keeps our promise by fully funding veterans’ health care programs and benefits while also investing in our nation’s service members by funding military bases and military construction.”

Key provisions of H.R. 8580 include:

- Full funding for veterans’ health care programs.

- Complete funding for veterans’ benefits and VA programs.

- Critical financial support for the Indo-Pacific region, including projects in Guam, enhancing the Department of Defense's posture in the area.

- A prohibition on using taxpayer dollars to provide abortions.

- Protection of Second Amendment rights for veterans.

- Prevention of diverting VA resources intended for veterans to illegal aliens.

- A ban on using funds to promote or implement President Biden’s ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ plan.
