Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released a statement following his vote to pass H.R. 5863, the Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act. The legislation aims to provide tax relief for individuals affected by hurricanes and other federally declared disasters.

“Florida is no stranger to the devastating effects of hurricanes and natural disasters,” said Rep. Webster. “Tax relief for Americans impacted by disasters is critical for victims’ ability to recover and rebuild in the wake of disaster. This legislation provides much needed tax relief for those impacted by disasters like Hurricane Ian, the Maui fires, and the East Palestine train derailment.”
