Lake County Schools issued the following announcement on Jan. 31.
Congratulations to Tesa Hunter and Brooke Butts, 9th grade students at Tavares High! They wrote a youth innovation grant titled "Tee Off to Inclusion" with Special Olympics and were awarded $2,000! The funds will go toward growing Unified Champion Schools in Lake County, with a celebratory field trip to Top Golf in the spring.
Taylor Ogg, also in 9th grade at Tavares High, wrote this commercial to encourage more students to get involved with Special Olympics. It's being shared with schools across the district this week. Great job, girls!!
