Lake County Schools issued the following announcement on Jan. 13.
Our Risk Management team has begun working with schools and departments across the district to focus on safety practices in the storage, handling, use, and disposal of chemicals on campus. Food Services is the first department to complete their chemical audit and Safety Data Sheet update. Director Linda Milliken and her team have been recognized as “Safety Champions,” for their expeditious and thorough completion of this daunting project. As we complete the process of taking inventory, improving storage, and disposing of expired chemicals, we are making our district a safer place for our students and staff.
