Florida Congressman Daniel Webster has reaffirmed his commitment to law enforcement during National Police Week by supporting several legislative measures. The Congressman, representing Clermont, Florida, cast his vote in favor of multiple bills aimed at aiding law enforcement officials across the United States.
“The men and women of law enforcement embody the highest ideals of service, selflessly answering the call to protect and defend our communities,” stated Rep. Webster. He further expressed his enduring support for police forces by voting for legislation designed to enhance their capabilities. “During this National Police Week, I voted to pass legislation that builds on my longstanding support for our police. I will always back the blue and will continue to support efforts that ensure our nation’s law enforcement have the training, tools, and resources necessary to uphold the rule of law and keep our communities safe.”
Among the bills passed were H.R 2240, known as the Improving Law Enforcement Officer Safety and Wellness Through Data Act. This bill mandates the Attorney General to gather and disseminate data regarding violent incidents against law enforcement officers and provide recommendations on preventing such occurrences.
Another key piece of legislation is H.R. 2243, or the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Reform Act (LEOSA). This act broadens LEOSA exemptions allowing officers to conceal carry firearms on state, local, and private properties open to the public while also reforming qualification standards related to concealed carrying.
Additionally, Rep. Webster supported H.R. 2255—the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act of 2025—which permits federal officers in good standing to buy retired service weapons that would otherwise be destroyed.
