Florida Congressman Daniel Webster announced that his office helped constituents recover more than $3.6 million from federal agencies in 2025. The funds were returned to residents who sought assistance with issues involving the IRS, Veterans Affairs, Social Security, and other federal bodies.

“Providing my constituents with first-class assistance with issues involving federal agencies is one of my top priorities,” said Rep. Webster. “Far too often, hardworking Americans and veterans face unnecessary delays and bureaucratic obstacles. I am pleased that we have been able to help so many constituents receive the benefits, services, and compensation they have earned.”

Webster’s staff works directly with agency liaisons to address constituent concerns and resolve cases. One example cited was a veteran in Sumter County whose claim had been delayed by VA processes; after intervention from Webster’s office, the claim was resolved and resulted in a retroactive payment exceeding $10,000.

Since January 2017, Webster’s office has secured over $28.5 million for district residents through recovered tax returns, pension benefits, or other payments owed by federal agencies. “I am committed to continuing to work to improve the quality, effectivity and efficiency of our federal agencies,” Webster added.

Daniel Webster has represented Florida’s 11th Congressional District since 2011 after succeeding Alan Grayson. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998 and served in the Florida Senate from 1998 to 2008. Born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1949, Webster is now 74 years old and lives in Clermont. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
