A precautionary boil water notice was announced on April 20 for residents living at 2203-2302 Bracknell Forest Trail in Tavares, Florida. The City of Tavares advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes should be boiled before use.

The notice states that a rolling boil of one minute is sufficient to ensure safety. As an alternative to boiling tap water, bottled water may also be used by affected residents.

This measure will remain in effect until bacteriological surveys confirm the safety of the drinking water. Service will be restored as soon as possible once tests indicate there is no health risk.

Residents seeking more information are encouraged to contact the City of Tavares Water Department at (352) 742-6222.
