On Friday, Feb. 21, former Montverde Academy standouts Matthew Heyl and Salvador Alvarez’s current college team, the Stetson Hatters, won 11-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the UMBC Retrievers.

The game took place at Melching Field at Conrad Park. This was their first matchup against the Retrievers this season.

The Hatters’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. at Melching Field at Conrad Park against Iowa Hawkeyes.
