Daniel Webster, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 11th district, used his Twitter account in early October 2025 to comment on the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, government funding negotiations, and his position on national security.
On October 7, 2025, Webster marked the second anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, writing, “Two years ago today, our ally Israel faced a day of horrendous evil. On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists, backed by Iran, murdered over 1,200 men, women, and children and dragged over 250 Israelis and Americans into Gaza – many of whom remain hostages today. America stands with” (posted October 7, 2025).
Later that day, Webster addressed ongoing budget negotiations in Congress: “This is why I voted on 9/19 to extend government funding for 6 weeks while we finish negotiating agency spending bills. House Republicans did our job, Senate Republicans are trying to pass it as well and Senate Democrats need to stop blocking it! https://t.co/rJRcfoSx3V” (posted October 7, 2025).
On October 9, Webster tweeted his support for a strong defense policy: “Peace Through Strength! https://t.co/vYkT9pMEk7” (posted October 9, 2025).
Daniel Webster has represented Florida’s 11th district in Congress since replacing Alan Grayson in 2011. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both the Florida House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998 and the Florida Senate from 1998 to 2008. Webster was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1949 and currently resides in Clermont. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1971.
