Daniel Webster, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 11th district since 2011, recently addressed several topics in a series of posts on November 4, 2025. His tweets covered national leadership, local public safety initiatives, and the ongoing government shutdown’s impact on Floridians.
On November 4, Webster commented on the service of former Vice President Dick Cheney, writing: “Vice President Dick Cheney served our nation for many years with a steadfast conviction in defending America’s security and values. Sandy I are praying for his wife, Lynne, and the Cheney family during this time.”
Later that day, he recognized the work of Lake County Fire Rescue and highlighted recent investments in public safety: “Lake County Fire Rescue is among the best in the nation, and this investment will help ensure that they have the training and resources needed to keep our communities safe. Thank you @RepFine for your partnership in strengthening public safety for our community.”
Addressing federal issues affecting Florida residents amid a government shutdown, Webster posted: “From airport delays to uncertainty about benefits and paychecks for federal workers and troops, the Democrats’ government shutdown continues to hurt Florida families. I joined @VernBuchanan and my FL GOP colleagues to urge Senate Democrats to stop holding the government hostage”.
Webster has been active in politics for decades. He began his career in the Florida House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998 before serving in the Florida Senate until 2008. Born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1949 and currently residing in Clermont at age 74, Webster graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971.
