Florida Congressman Daniel Webster has expressed his support for President Trump’s agenda by voting in favor of H.R. 1968, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. This legislation aims to keep the government operational while protecting taxpayers.

“Today I voted to pass H.R. 1968, which ensures we have the tools needed to back President Trump’s agenda to keep the government open, cut wasteful spending, and deliver real, long-term conservative reforms that put America First,” said Rep. Webster.

Despite typically opposing short-term funding measures, Webster supports this bill as it challenges the notion that budget cuts are impossible without increasing deficits. He emphasized that H.R. 1968 reduces federal spending for Fiscal Year 2025 while enhancing border security and providing essential funding for service members and veterans.

Webster stated his commitment to working with President Trump and Republican colleagues on advancing policies aimed at reducing spending and protecting taxpayers.

Key aspects of H.R. 1968 include a $13 billion reduction in non-defense spending compared to last year, additional resources for the Department of Defense, salary increases for junior enlisted service members, and $485 million allocated for immigration enforcement efforts such as detention facilities.

The bill also rescinds over $20 billion from what was termed then-President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act. It allocates $6 billion towards addressing veterans’ needs through the Toxic Exposure Fund and provides significant funding for nutrition programs benefiting vulnerable mothers and children.

Additionally, H.R. 1968 extends operations of Community Health Centers and Medicare telehealth services set to expire soon.
