Today in Washington, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster voted in favor of passing resolutions H.J.Res 75 and H.J.Res 24. These resolutions aim to overturn recent Department of Energy regulations concerning commercial refrigerators, walk-in coolers, and walk-in freezers put forward during the Biden Administration.
“Today, House Republicans took a stand for American small businesses, working families, and commonsense,” stated Rep. Webster. He further described the legislation as rejecting a “costly, top-down mandate” from the Biden Administration, which, according to him, would negatively impact small businesses and families while advancing their green agenda.
The Department of Energy had finalized rules between December 2024 and January 2025, under the then-Biden Administration. These regulations were meant to establish new energy standards for certain refrigeration equipment but faced criticism for potentially increasing costs and limiting consumer choices.
