The City of Tavares announced on April 18 that the precautionary boil water notice for residents in the Rosewood, Martin’s Run, and Fox Run subdivisions has been lifted after tests confirmed the water is safe to drink.

The decision to rescind the notice follows a bacteriological survey which showed no contamination in the water supply. The original advisory was issued on April 16 as a preventive measure.

Residents affected by the earlier notice can now use tap water for drinking and cooking without boiling it first. The city said these actions were taken out of an abundance of caution to protect public health.

Anyone seeking further information is encouraged to contact the City of Tavares Water Department at (352) 742-6222.
